National
The nation recorded solid auction activity for the first Saturday of April with a National clearance rate of 70.5 per cent with 1241 properties listed. The clearance rate fell short of last year’s comparable post-Easter weekend clearance rate of 75 per cent, furthermore this clearance rate is expected to be revised to a level in the high 60s further expanding the comparable decline.
Melbourne
Melbourne cleared 73.8 per cent of stock on Saturday compared with the 2015 post-Easter weekend clearance rate of 76.7 per cent. The city recorded 482 listings, below the comparable post-Easter amount of 532 Listings last year.
Sydney
Sydney’s auction clearance rate rose to 73.7 per cent already making the clearance rate for this month higher than that of last month. While short of the over 80 per cent rates recorded in the corresponding 2015 period, Sydney still reordered good clearance rates when compared to capital cities.
At 539, the auction listing volume increased by 27 compared to the post-Easter Super Saturday in 2015.
